☀️RMSC Science on the Edge Lectures: Preparing for Totality🌑

February 22 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm | $15.00

On Monday, April 8, 2024, Rochester will be in the direct path of a total solar eclipse for the first time in almost a century. A total solar eclipse occurs when a portion of the Earth is engulfed in a shadow cast by the moon, which fully blocks sunlight.

Join us as Dan Schneiderman discusses the science and history of solar eclipses, the impact the eclipse will have on our region, and how to prepare for this extraordinary astronomical opportunity

ABOUT THE SERIES

The RMSC Richard C. Shultz Science on the Edge lectures in Bausch Auditorium have provided insight and understanding about current research on a broad array of topics for a general audience for more than 30 years. Science on the Edge sparks intelligent conversations throughout the community. Designed to engage those interested in broadening their scientific understanding, lectures promote the continuation of education and sharing of ideas.

Science on the Edge lectures are supported in part by the Richard C. Shultz Endowment Fund.
