“A Glowing Halo: The Quest for Truth in the Heavens” performance and discussion session

April 26 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm | Free

FirstLight Players is proud to present the PREMIER of our original one-act play, “A Glowing Halo: The Quest for Truth in the Heavens”!

Friday April 26 and Saturday April 27, 2024 at 7:30pm.
The play will be followed immediately by a question-and-answer session with an expert panel:
* Liza Matrecito, Strasenburgh Planetarium
* Christine L. Ridarsky, Rochester City Historian
* Ira Srole and Lynn Kinsman, co-writers

The cast of 21 historical characters bring to life the story of the search for a theorized planet Vulcan, involving a local Rochester astronomer, Lewis Swift, and the total solar eclipse of 1878. We learn from this quest the importance of staying curious and continuing to ask questions. Through the magic of theater, you’ll get to witness the meeting of Sir Isaac Newton and Dr. Albert Einstein and hear them discuss the importance of the shoulders of giants they stood upon.

Doors open at 7:10pm for general seating, no reservations or tickets. Donations gratefully accepted.
