Celebrating the May 2022 Total Lunar Eclipse in Rochester
Rochester had a stunning view of the Lunar Eclipse last night!
At the RMSC, we celebrated with two live concerts of Vanishing Sun in the Strasenburgh Planetarium followed by a special showing of The Sky Tonight at 9 pm featuring the lunar eclipse. We captured this image a few minutes before the first contact took place.
The RIT Observatory held an open house from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m that was open to the public for everyone to celebrate together.
Here are some of our favorite local photos from social media:

Unfortunately no timelapse of tonight's eclipse but I did manage to get a few shots of various stages in between live shots. pic.twitter.com/ZjAsLpX5Wo
